Carbide Fickert 170mm
170 mm silicon-carbide Fickert brush for marble and soft stone
Silicon-carbide (carbide) 170 mm Fickert brush for antiquing (ageing), brushed, leather and satin finishes on marble, limestone, travertine and other soft or calcareous stone. Where diamond would be too aggressive or too expensive on soft stone, silicon carbide gives a controlled, warm texture at a lower cost, on automatic polishing lines and manual machines.
The 170 mm format covers wide slabs quickly and suits high-output automatic lines.
Available grits
24, 36, 46, 60, 80, 120, 180, 220, 240, 320, 400, 500, 600, 800, 1000, 1200.
Low numbers open and texture the surface; mid grits refine; high grits build the satin sheen.
Recommended grit sequence
For a typical aged / brushed finish on marble: 36 → 80 → 180 → 320, without skipping more than one step. For a soft satin, continue to 500–600.
Specifications
Format: Fickert base, 170 mm, fits standard Fickert holders. Abrasive: silicon-carbide filament. Resined: available. Use wet or dry; run wet on the fine grits for a smoother finish.
Recommended materials
Marble, limestone, travertine, onyx and other soft or calcareous stone, plus softer engineered stone. For granite, quartz and porcelain (hard stone), use the diamond Fickert brush.
